Positive thinking isn't denial; it's the accurate realization that we don't know everything and therefore, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...

Lessons in Making Beds

The other day I wanted  Gabby to make Christopher's bed.  You see, Christopher's bed is the first thing you see when you come into our house.  His room is the very first room.  ( we have a small house and have to make do with what we have)

I wanted  Gabby to make Christopher's bed because Christopher was not home and some one was coming over.

So I asked Gabby "Will you make Christopher's bed for me please?"

She kinda huffed and said "well, Christopher would never make my bed"

I then explained how someone was coming over and and I just wanted the house to look a little more picked up.

She then said " I am not making this for Chris, I am making the bed because you asked me to"

AT THAT VERY MOMENT I saw a comparison of How we need to be serving and treating others.

I think how many times  when in my life where I have not wanted to be submissive in areas, Mainly my marriage.  Or maybe how many times I didn't want to do something because it was not my job or problem to begin with.  Or when I did give and helped out how I felt I wasn't appreciated or the person was using the blessing I had given in a way I didn't think they should use it.

When we do something for someone else, we are not doing it for them, we are doing it FOR GOD!!

Gabby's reward was not coming from Chris, but it was coming from mom (me).

Gabby didn't have to rub it in Chris's face that she made his bed, sure she just would have gotten a quick thanks that might have been sincere, but from mom she received a bigger reward.

when we do something for somebody, and when you are truly giving with the love of God, you do not expect your reward to come from that person.  It comes from God. (Matthew 6:1-4)
