Just a Girl and Her flute....First Game & Competition

Last Friday, The Desoto Dragons Debuted the Marching band for the first home game.  It was a beautiful evening in the Midwest, as dusk rounded the corner kick off started, all though we lost the game the band was great..and the next day was Marching Band competition amongst 5 other schools.  We won 2 Awards for performance! Stalker or Excited Mom? You Decide

these pictures were taken the week of 4th of July

this is the first time the marching band had gotten together for practice

Each instrument separated into their own little groups...I was excited for Gabby, since when she had initially tried out she didn't make it.  then on the last day of school they let her know that they still needed one more flute player.

So here is the first pic I snapped...gabby doesn't see me at first..but a couple of the other kids do...

 

 they then said something to Gabby like who is that lady talking pictures of us, and they told her  hope she is not a stalker.  the look of disgust comes across Gabby's face.  I'm thinking at first she didn't realize it was me? or was she just disgusted that it was me?

then full fledged embarrassment, that the lady snapping pics is her mom

 she is letting it soak in

when they came to for a break she said people were saying some weird lady is stalking us..

I said, "well Gabby did you tell them I was your Mom? "

She said "NO"

During the parade on the 4th We yelled out, We are your #1 Fan..the only thing missing was the big foam finger.....

Whilst on a walk a few weeks back with Gabby, We came across the HUGEST GINORMOUS  TITANIC like Dandelion, of course it was found in the City Garden of PRIDE (Desoto's Motto)!! This town is like if you are going to do something wrong, do it right..I guess...


thank you to my Chubby Hubby who volunteered to be the hand model..it is a good thing too..besides the hair on his hands..his hands are way smoother then mine.  I guess lack of manual labor.

Sophia was Amelia Earhart in the celebrate America skit for 2nd grade in Mrs. Bell's class.
we were not able to go. But I still was proud of her for learning her lines that I tried to re-create the moment, with no luck however....

I gave up trying to film this and let Gabby take over......

This also made Nation wide news, I was just sitting on my couch and Shepard Smith on Fox News comes on and I hear the story. I had all ready heard the story earlier through the local news. He closed out his broadcast with this report! I just about fell down in laughter! Just to give you a hint of what is going on, the title of the video is called "Naked Bandit does The Hula.."
